I have to share with you a little about myself as well as the impact you have had on me.

Some History: I have been heavy all of my life since I gave birth to my boys over 30 years ago! I never used the “E” word (Exercise) in my vocabulary. I tried many different weight loss methods from Diets to Gym memberships and personal trainers, Weight Watchers, Nutra Systems, Noom, 24 hour fitness with Personal Trainer, Body Fit group workouts and the list goes on. Nothing ever worked. They say it is a life style change and I totally agree. Everything works for those that apply themselves. Some of these methods worked for me temporarily too, but I still went back to my old self.

Then I met you. We had an honest discussion about me and what I wanted for myself. What I liked about my past experiences with weight loss methods, what I did not like. I never had so much attention on me. I never had to think and focus so much on myself either. It really got me to look at myself, my health, what I could not do physically and what I wanted to do as I aged into my golden years. You opened my eyes to that and we developed a plan together.

We set a weekly schedule, I choose early morning, (which I am a night person and getting up at 6:30am was a challenge for me). But you know, it was not a problem at all because I really enjoyed what we were doing together. You were helping me to continue to be physically independent. You began helping me train my body to get up off the floor after playing with my 3 toddler grandsons. You helped with my lower back issues, neck stretches, arm and leg movements. All at my pace, none of that “one more, two more, three more” style. At my age, I don’t want to be a skinny Minnie, I just want to be mobile and get around on my own. You did all of this because you truly care about what is going on with me each time we were together.

I have to say thank you for helping me realize that I can exercise, within my limitations and it can be fun! Morgan, you are patient, caring and supportive. YOU ARE WONDERFUL!!

Morgan is smart and adaptive to different situations and energy/motivation levels each day. Just as important, she is a pleasure to train with and I look forward to working with her each session. She has been instrumental in helping me gain strength and lose weight, methodically managing short- and long-term objectives. I've worked with many personal trainers over the years but Morgan stands out as someone who will help you reach your goals and drive you to success yet not be a drill sergeant about it.”

I have worked with Morgan McEvilly for over 3 years as both my gym trainer and as my yoga teacher. I am not a gushy person and have high standards and have worked with trainers at various gyms in both New York and San Francisco over three decades. Morgan is simply the best, most knowledgeable trainer I have ever had. She is a great, caring teacher and really a life coach who has improved my life in ways I could not have imagined. I recommend her in the strongest possible terms. I am 60 years old and have some physical injuries/limitations, including a hip replacement. Morgan is always connecting things about my body for me and finding ways to suggest/implement improvements to address my issues. Morgan is very observant. She always has a short term plan. But she always also has a long term, strategic plan. We set monthly goals, review them, then set new goals.

After initially working with me on the gym floor and learning about my physical issues, Morgan suggested trying yoga with her just a few times. That turned into three amazing years of being her yoga student. She waited for me to figure out that yoga is in fact a great workout requiring core strength, balance, flexibility and body/mind connection. Then she integrated yoga into the things we were working on in the gym.

Through working with Morgan, I have lost about 25 pounds, and my flexibility, balance, and mindfulness have improved vastly. My functional strength is probably better than when I was 30. I was about the most inflexible person in the world when I met Morgan. Massage therapists always mentioned how tight I was. I now do headstands and handstands, and a good wheel pose. I can now get my palms flat on the ground when I fold over. We even went sky-diving together and now regularly swim in San Francisco Bay. I cannot convey how life-changing and life-affirming these things have been. The credit goes to Morgan. Morgan simply cares about you as a whole person.”

Morgan has an eclectic skill set, which many trainers also have. But unlike most such trainers, she has real expertise in all her different areas and can integrate them seamlessly into one session or series of sessions, and have it all make sense. She can train you on weights, switching effortlessly to neuromuscular awareness and nerve mechanics. For anyone rehabbing an injury, old or new, this is an extremely beneficial approach.
